Worship (continued)

Worship is reserved only for God. God has supernatural power and this means his power is far above any power. This is what the three Hebrew young men recorded in the book of Daniel believed. They believed God is all powerful as such he is the only one to be worshipped. They were taught from the time they were young that the God of Israel is one God. This fact remains true now and forever that there is one God and besides him there is no other God.

In Babylon when king Nebuchadnezzar set up an idol for everyone in the land to worship, the three young men Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego from Judah refused to worship it. The king was furious when the young men refused to worship that idol. When they were told that they would be thrown in the fiery furnace the Hebrew young men still refused to worship the idol. That day the three young men ended up in the fiery furnace, but the fire did not consume them. The God they served delivered them because they valued him as the one and only one who is supposed to be worshipped. This is the reason why God stepped into their difficult situation and delivered them. In doing so, it proved that God is the only true God and that he takes care of those who worship him. The God that these young men worshipped delivered them from the power of the fire. This reminds us that God is alive and active in the affairs of men at all times.

After that mighty deliverance from the fiery furnace, In Daniel 3: 28 the Bible says, “Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God” (KJV). The king acknowledged the fact that the God that these young men worshipped was the one and only true God.

God is still seeking for people to worship him today. In John 4:24 Jesus says, “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth” (KJV). God is seeking for people who will worship him with the unshakable commitment. Are you going to be a worshipper of God? Your commitment to him will help you to experience a mighty deliverance in your time of need. Worship is the best way of giving him that first place and when you do he will deliver you too.
