The Kingdom of God

Jesus taught the disciples to take desperate measures just to enter the Kingdom of God. Entering the kingdom of God requires a complete separation from sin and Jesus Christ has made that possible for us. If anyone asks for forgive from God, he can find forgiveness no matter how sinful he is.

In Matthew 7: 21 the Bible says, “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven” (KJV). Talking about the will of God is not enough, you have to do it. Practicing what the Bible teaches is a more obvious way of doing the will of God.

The will of God is something that stems from a relationship and it starts with a new birth experience. Only children of God can do the will of God therefore make sure you are saved. When you are saved you enter the Kingdom of God. The kingdom is not just way in the by and by. You can enter the kingdom of God today.

What is the Kingdom of God? In Romans 14:17 the Bible says, “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost” (KJV). In the kingdom of God there is more than just physical food. It is also not just talk. In 1 Corinthians 4:20 the Scripture says, “For the kingdom of God is not with talk, but with power (KJV). The kingdom of God is full of activity. It is not as boring as many people might think. The kingdom of God involves a lot of action.

Jesus Christ teaches that we should take drastic measures to enter the Kingdom of God. That means action. In Mark 9:47 Jesus says, “And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire” (KJV). Deal with whatever hinders you from entering the kingdom of God. A hindrance can also be an idea, a sense of self sufficiency or hanging around with wrong friends. The word of God in 1 Corinthians 15, 33 says, “Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals” (ESV). Take drastic measures for your life.

Jesus considers having access into the kingdom more important than physical appeal. He allowed his body to be scarred for us. As a matter of fact Jesus entered Heaven itself with nail scarred hands. He took drastic measures so that we can enter into the kingdom of God. If he did it for you and me it is then serious enough for us to take serious measures too. Whatever you do, make sure you enter into the Kingdom of God. Let nothing stop you!
