Where is God? – Part 3

We should also be aware of the possible evil intentions people might have in a given situation. Examine issues and never take things for granted. Make sure you try to avoid the “I wish I knew” or “I wish I did this or that” in order to help in a situation. In a given situation try not to ignore the so called gut feelings because they can be helpful in dealing with sensitive issues. These are in most cases promptings of the Holy Spirit to guide you in a given situation. This is the reason why in Luke 12:12 Jesus says, “For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say” (KJV). This may apply to you, but all you have to do is to just take heed to the promptings of the Holy Spirit. If you care about something or someone in your life, this will definitely be easy to do.

On the same subject the Bible also tells a story of an honorable man by the name of Jabez. When Jabez was born his mother went through a lot of pain. This is the reason why she named him Jabez. One day Jabez prayed a pray asking God to enlarge his coast and not cause pain to other people. The part that talks about enlarging the coast is not the only interesting part because of all the possibility for prosperity and success. This prayer also calls out for guidance. Jabez asked God to help him overcome evil and avoid the pain it causes.

In I Chronicles 4:10 the Bible says, “And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested” (KJV). Jabez knew that evil can grieve anyone who stands for righteousness and he desired the ways of righteousness. However, what he really wanted was to be an instrument of righteousness and not evil because evil has a way of impacting anyone who initiates it in most subtle ways. The Bible tells us that God is not mocked therefore whatever a man sows that is what he reaps.

Now, let the prayer of Jabez be our pray today so that we can be used by God and not by man. Stand for righteousness and expose the works of darkness. You are the light in this world if you believe in Jesus. Let his light so shine through you so that darkness can be expelled. Let God use you.
