This is what led the believers to overcome in hard times. They were filled with the Holy Ghost just like John the Baptist was and they spoke the word of God with boldness. Every form of persecution has a reason and for the believers in the book of Acts that kind of persecution was meant to stop them from preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. In this case when they prayed God gave them the boldness to continue preaching the good news.
When Paul the apostle preached in Jerusalem, a lot of people stood against him. Did this stop his ministry? No, it did not. In Acts 23: 11-12 the Bible says, “And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good cheer, Paul: for as thou hast testified of me in Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome. And when it was day, certain of the Jews banded together, and bound themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul” (KJV). The Lord was now sending Paul to Rome after what he did in Jerusalem and behind the scenes people were plotting against him. Now, one thing we all need to know is that what Jesus says is what has to happen. God’s plan is what prevails. Paul ended up in Rome because Jesus sent him to Rome. The people who banded against Paul never had a chance to kill him.
It is not surprising that Paul could write things like “we are more than conquerors” in Christ. He overcame difficulties from people who disagreed with him and successfully proclaimed the gospel. That is why he later ended up saying that he had fought a good fight of faith. He went through difficulties but he said that none of those things moved him. Paul was steadfast in the fight of faith.
We can all win every battle of faith. In Romans 8: 37 the Bible in regard to hard times declares, “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us” (KJV). When you have faith in Jesus Christ you are on the winning side. Pray and let nothing stop you from glorifying Jesus. He is the King of Kings and The Lord of Lords and there is none like him. Remember that the believers in the book of Acts prayed and the place was shaken and they spoke the word of God with boldness. Nothing could stop them therefore nothing should stop you.
