God is in Control – Part 2

Jesus was in control despite being a man like us. He pointed out this to the apostles at the time Peter was trying to defend him when he was being arrested. At that moment Jesus could have easily called upon twelve legions of Angels to just do the job Peter were trying to do. Peter ended up cutting off someone’s ear because he did not understand that Jesus was still in control.

In Matthew 26:53 Jesus responded to Peters said, “Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels” (KJV). Jesus was in control and if this was not in his plan he could have requested for angels to defend him.

In Matthew 27:1 the Bible also says, “When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death” (KJV). When they sought counsel against Jesus, thought they were in control, but in reality God is the one who was in control.

Imagine Pontius Pilate standing before the one who created everything saying that he has power over him. In John 19:10 the Bible declares, Pilate said, “You refuse to speak to me? Remember, I have the power to make you free or to kill you on a cross” (KJV). Pilate thought he had the power, but in reality he did not. He ended up doing what God planned for Jesus. Everyone was doing what God planned to happen that day. The plan of God was unfolding in the midst of that chaos.

When we hear of heart breaking stories happening around the world, we easily end up thinking that maybe God is not in control. The truth of the matter is that God is in control. No matter what you are going through remember that God is still in control.
At the time when Jesus was on the cross people reviled him, but he was still in control. He was in control despite that there were people who spoke or conspired against him.

In Matthew 27:39-42 the Bible says, “And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads, And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross. Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said, He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him” (KJV). Even when Jesus was hanging on the cross, he was still in control. Things were getting from bad to worse, but Jesus was still in control.

In your life, God is still in control no matter how chaotic things might appear. What God has planned will come to pass. All you need is faith in Jesus Christ.
