The blood of Jesus Christ speaks forgiveness for all of us and it is the source of spiritual protection. In Hebrews 9:22 the Bible says, “And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission” (KJV). For us to be forgiven blood has to be shed. Since sin entered the world, no one is able to come to God without going through the process in which he is forgiven. Blood had to be shed for this process to take place that is why Christ died for our sins and arose from the dead for our justification.
From the time man began to call upon God, he has offered sacrifices as an attempt to find forgiveness from God. The blood that was shed was a proclamation of the fact that man can by himself not find forgiveness until a sacrifice is offered to take his place. Now, in the tabernacle that God instructed Moses to build the blood of bulls and goats was offered, but that blood could not take away sin. It could only cover it up that is why the process was repeated once every year on that special Day of Atonement.
When Jesus shed his blood the process of coming to God every year to find forgiveness was finally over. Jesus paid the price for our sins so that we could find forgiveness once and for all. The time Jesus sat down with the disciples at the last supper he talked about the cup of the covenant in a way that was clear to them. In Matthew 26:28 Jesus says, “For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins” (KJV). In this scripture we can see that the blood of Jesus is shed for many. One thing we have to remember in this Scripture is that many people will have to be saved and not just a few. This blood cleanses from sin and that is how man becomes guiltless before God.
The process of turning into being guiltless in the sight of God is only experienced when we first acknowledges that we are sinners. If someone cannot see how sinful he is, such a one is not capable of truly asking God for forgiveness so as to become guiltless. Man must be convicted by the Holy Spirit to realize how sinful he is before God. This is how man comes into the position of being guiltless.
The position of being guiltless is a position of complete protection from God. It is all because there is no sin to compromise that position and it now remains a position of power and safety. This is where the presence of God is available because the wall of partition between God and man has been removed. In this position the enemy cannot touch you as a child of God and if he does he will surely find himself fighting against God. However, we all have to live right in order to maintain the protection found in Christ.
