The Presence of God

The presence of God is a fact. This is something that every human being needs to have in this world to be an overcomer. Moses, Jeremiah and all the other prophets experienced God’s presence just like we all need it. Why do we need the presence of God? Well, it is simply because the presence of God has a way of helping us in time of need.

God’s presence provides us with resources to overcome in the battles of life that we all face. God must be our present help in time of need and in Christ he has made this possible. In the grace that we have in Christ his presence has been made available. Anyone who calls upon the name of The Lord can now experience God’s presence.

In Matthew 1:23 the Bible says, “Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us” (KJV). This means God has chosen to make his presence available to us through his Son Jesus Christ. That is why Jesus is called Emmanuel which means “God with us”. The grace found in Christ has made his presence available therefore we can now know the truth and be able to continue in it to experience true freedom.

When Jesus ascended into heaven and sat at the right hand of the Father the presence of God was made available to us by the Holy Spirit. In Mark 16:20 the Bible says, “And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen” (KJV). The disciples needed to have the Holy Spirit since he is the one who makes the presence of God a reality. This is what the people of old such as Moses, or Jeremiah experienced as they bore witness to what God was saying to the human race. Watch what Moses, Jeremiah and the disciples of Christ in the early church experienced.

In Jeremiah 1:19 the Bible says, “And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the Lord, to deliver thee” (KJV). This means God was with the prophet Jeremiah. God said to Jeremiah the prophet, “I am with thee”. In Exodus 33: 14 Moses was told, “…My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest” (KJV). Moses, Jeremiah and all the disciples needed the presence of God therefore we all need his presence too.

Without calling upon Jesus Christ no one can experience the presence of God. The grace of God is found in Jesus Christ and through him we experience his presence. Do you need the presence of God? If you do, then give your life to Jesus Christ. Ask him to come into your heart and as long as you abide in him, he will never leave or forsake you. God will be with you, he is Emmanuel.
