The Way of Righteousness

The way of righteousness is the way of faith. This is the way ordained for our justification and it is the only way into the presence of God. It is also the only way that pleases God because it is the way of faith.

The Bible refers to this way which he has set apart for us as “The living way”. In Hebrews 10:20 the Bible says, ”By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh” (KJV). This way is not only new, but also life quickening. It requires that we should have the righteousness that comes from God.

It is easy for us to think we are righteous in the sight of God because of the good things we do for others when in actual fact that is not what counts as righteousness in God’s sight. The Bible warns us not to have our own righteousness. The nation of Israel was trapped in this kind of religious activity and missed out on the righteousness that comes from God. God wants us to learn from Israel’s mistake so that we can obtain his righteousness the way he has planned it for us.

In Romans 10:3 the Bible says, ”For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God” (KJV). The only righteousness that God has ordained is the righteousness that comes by faith. When people put their faith in Christ it means that they are choosing the only way that God has ordained and it pleases him.

In Philippians 3:7-9 Paul says, ”But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith” (KJV). The righteousness of God is by faith and any other way of trying to become righteous is not of God.

God loves righteousness. Psalms 11:7 the Bible says, ”For the righteous Lord loveth righteousness…” (KJV). Those born of God are the one who can do righteousness. In 1 John 2:29 the Bibles in reference to God says,”If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him” (KJV). If you are a child of God, divine acts in your life come about due to the fact that the Spirit of God leads you in fulfilling the divine law by the acts of faith.

Children of God live by faith and their way of life is under the leadership of the Holy Spirit. Are you a child of God? If you are not, then the best that you have to do right now is to give your life to Jesus Christ. Once you given your life to Jesus Christ you will become righteous before God. Your faith in Jesus Christ makes you righteous before God just like Abraham was considered righteous when he believed God. This is the way of righteous and it is for anyone who comes to God through Jesus Christ.
