In Christian circles the phrase “Where he sends, he provides” is common, but it can be a source of frustration when things do not work out as expected. The fact is that God provides for his people as long as they are doing his will. In situations where his provision is not visibly noticed, it is easy for anyone to assume that he is in the wrong place. However, we have to understand that God’s provision is not limited to money or whatever we may have on our mind.
God knows what we need at every moment in life. Sometimes we might think we need one thing when we actually really need the other. In whatever situation you go through, one thing you have to know is that the best of all provisions is the presence of God. When Jesus sent the disciples, he made sure they had the presence of God. The presence of God is priceless. In Matthew 28:20 The Lord Jesus says, “…and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen” (KJV). The presence of God comes to us through Jesus Christ and it is the source of all provision. God’s presence is his provision if we have to succeed in the task of reaching the world with the gospel.
We have to understand that what we may be focusing on, as a provision could actually not be what we need in a given situation. There are times when someone might use money to solve a problem in a given situation, but end up not dealing with it more effectively. In such cases, our focus is usually on another form of provision and that is why we end up not being able to see the most suitable provision of God in a given situation. Sometimes focusing on one form of provision can impair our ability to notice that God has consistently been providing all along through many other ways such as the supply of human capital, friendships and family support.
The Lord’s provision is always right on time and it perfectly suits every situation. As a child of God remember that he will always be with you in the high and low points of your life.
