Many years earlier before what happened to Naaman; Israel came to the banks of The River Jordan and it was time for the crossing over experience. Joshua was told that he was going to be magnified at the crossing of the River Jordan. In Joshua 3:7 the Bible says, “And the Lord said unto Joshua, This day will I begin to magnify thee in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee” (KJV). God was with Joshua that day just as he promised.
After many years later when Jesus was baptized in the River Jordan, the heavens opened up, God spoke with an audible voice and the Spirit of God lightened upon him as a dove. In Matthew 3:17 in regard to the Lord’s baptism the Bible says, “And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased” (KJV). On that day, God the Father magnified The Lord Jesus Christ. He was no longer just a son of Joseph the carpenter. He was the Son of the living God destined to redeem the human race, but had to go through the River Jordan experience.
