The Touch that Quickens

The Touch that quickens is a touch of God. Anyone who gets touched by God will always have a unique experience that can not so easily be explained. It is all because the touch is really a supernatural touch.

A long time ago a prophet by the name of Elisha, a man who did so many miracles died and was buried in a tomb. In the process of time war broke out with Syria and people in Israel experienced terror from people like the Moabites in more ways than usual. It was a difficult time because Elisha had also died.

One day during a funeral men were on their way to have someone buried, but then came across a band of Moabites. The Moabites were considered terrorists at that time and due to that encounter the men reacted in fear. In their panic something interesting happened. In 2 Kings 13:21 the Bible says, “And it came to pass, as they were burying a man, that, behold, they spied a band of men; and they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha: and when the man was let down, and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet” (‭KJV). The dead man who touched the bones of Elisha was quickened to life again.

Many year later as Jesus went about doing good and healing those who were oppressed of the devil, what some of the people needed was just a touch from him. In those days when lepers asked for healing Jesus stretched out his hand healed them. Virtue came out of him to heal those who came in faith. One day a woman came to Jesus hoping to be healed and she was determined to get what she came for. She had bled for many years and had spent a lot of her money on physicians who could not heal her. No matter what happened in the past she was still determined to experience a touch that quickens.

One important fact is that when this woman was about to met Jesus, she purposed in her heart to touch him hoping to be healed. In Mark 5:28 the Bible says,”For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole” (‭KJV). This woman knew that touching Jesus would lead to healing. She got hold of his clothes just like we can also get hold of God’s Word. The truth is that when you get hold of God’s Word you can also be quickened. There is virtue in that Word because that Word is Jesus himself.

The same virtue from Elisha’s dead bones raised a dead man and through Christ also healed a woman who was about to bleed to death. The same virtue can quicken you and if you are not yet a child of God, you can become his child, just give him your life. Receive his Word by asking Jesus to come into your heart. When you do, he will quicken you and restore whatever the enemy has been taken from you. Do not miss out on the touch that quickens.
