Man lives in two worlds and that is the natural world and the spirit world. What happens in the spirit world really dictates what happens in the natural world and all of us are part of what happen in both.
One day when Elisha and his helper were about to be captured by the King of Syria, he was not troubled because he saw in the spirit world. Elisha’s helper was afraid on that day because he could not see what Elisha saw in the spirit world until his eyes were opened too. In the natural world the two were surrounded by the Syrian army, but in the spirit world they were surrounded by the army of God.
We are living in the day when we need to see in the spirit world to know how things really are. The spirit world impacts the natural world. In the spirit world God is greater than anyone and anything. On the day the Syrian army surrounded Elisha and his helper, his helper was no longer afraid when he saw how great God is.
In 2 Kings 6: 17 the Bible says “And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha” (KJV). The young man saw the greatness of God, when his eyes were opened and saw those chariots of fire. We all need to see the greatness of God in order to overcome every onslaught of the enemy.
In the spirit world we have to be on the winning side. Jesus Christ has given us the winning side by his death and resurrection. When you have Christ in your heart you have someone greater than anyone in this world. This is the reason why the Bible says that he who is in you is greater than he that in the world.
Relationships we have in this world are dictated by what happens in the spirit world. The spirit world impacted the relationship between Abimelech and the people of Shechem. In the natural world the problem of trust between these two groups of people could not so easily be explained. In the natural world all we can do is speculate, but God reveals what really happens.
In Judges 9:23 the Bible says, “Then God sent an evil spirit between Abimelech and the men of Shechem; and the men of Shechem dealt treacherously with Abimelech” (KJV). An evil spirit impacted their relationship and this is also what happens today. People who trust each other can so easily loose trust in each other because of an evil spirit causing mistrust between them.
My prayer for you is that the Lord may open your eyes and be able to triumph against the forces of evil. Relationships are important in your life. Every relationship you have is meant to be a blessing from God until an evil spirit can try to rob you of that blessing. Make yourself available to God and become a blessing to every person he brings in your life.
