People God uses are ordinary, but very much connected to him in a special way. In that connection they know that what is important is the will of God. Since such people are connected to God by covenant, the issues they face are resolved by the help of God.
Let us look at some people God used. In Luke 1:5-7 the Bible says, “There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth. And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years” (KJV). The Bible tells us that Zacharias and Elisabeth were righteous and blameless.
Although Zacharias and Elisabeth were righteous and blameless, something else was missing, the two did not have a child. The people that God uses do not always have everything they want. If they do not have every thing they want, it does not mean they do not have every thing they need.
What we need in order to serve God depends on his eternal plan and his resources are always available to us as we serve him. Right now, we have everything we need in order to serve God through Christ.
