We can not ignore the fact that not having children in child bearing years can be heart wrenching. The psychological impact that this situation can have on anyone is excruciating. Zacharias and Elisabeth experienced it, but still kept pressing on. The two kept being faithful to God. What they went through affected them to a point that Elisabeth had to hide herself for months after conceiving a child in her old age.
In Psalms 34:19 the Bible says, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all” (KJV). God somehow delivered Zacharias and Elisabeth. In their afflictions God came through not only for them, but for the whole world. As a believer, your problem can now be considered a stepping stone to something bigger and better. Surely if you trust God, he will bless you.
Are you ready to serve God no matter what you have gone through? Hear what Habakkuk is saying. In Habakkuk 3:17 the Bible says, “Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation” (KJV). Habakkuk is saying that he was not going to give up. People God uses never give up.
