When a man yields to the promptings of the Holy Spirit to receive Jesus Christ as his personal Savior such a one ends up experiencing a changed life. Actually, such a person’s true sense of self goes much deeper as the Spirit of God begins to bears witness with his spirit that he is a child of God.
The fact is that without Christ, the inner man (spirit man) is dead in sin and trespasses until he is made alive by God’s Spirit. When such a one yields to God, he gets saved. This happens because of what Christ has done for us at the cross of Calvary and it all becomes real as one yields to God.
The change that occurs to the spirit man affects thoughts and feelings and that results in a person’s true change of behavior. The experience ends up in what is known as “new life”. In Galatians 2:20 the Paul says,“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me…”(KJV). This new life is Christ’s life and it is eternal.
Although man can be dead in sin and trespasses, through Christ he can be made alive. That is how people become children of God. The key is in yielding to the Spirit of God.
