How to Crossover to Life

When John the Baptist was baptizing people in the river Jordan, he was doing it in obedience to God’s word. As he went on doing his job, lo and behold Jesus also walked in for water baptism. At first John did not understand what was going on until Jesus convinced him to go ahead and do it because it was the perfect will of God.

What happened that day with Jesus is what must happen in our lives when we crossover to God’s side where there is eternal life. On that day Jesus was not being baptized for his sins because he had no sin to turn away from like us. During that water baptism we see Jesus’ generosity as he goes through the process for us. Why would we say that Jesus was generous? He was generous because he offered something we could not achieve by ourselves. What he offered through his death and resurrection is only possible through no other, but him. Today when we willingly chose to accept what he has done for us by placing our faith in him, we crossover to life. This is actually what makes the gospel of Jesus Christ the good news because it provides faith that truly offers hope.

The gospel of Jesus Christ is good news because it offers a solution to man’s worst enemy and that enemy is death. How did Jesus provide the solution? Jesus provided the solution to this problem by letting the prophetic word be fulfilled through his own life. Jesus did it by laying down his life so that the way into the presence of God can be made possible for those who believe in him.

In order for us to have eternal life, we need to resurrect. Sin brought death that is why we die, but Jesus in his resurrection brought life. This is the reason why Jesus pointed out that anyone who would believe in God through him would end up crossing over from death to life. In John 5:24 Jesus says,”“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life” (KJV). Passing from death to life means crossing over to God’s side where there is eternal life. Any one who puts his faith in God through Jesus Christ crosses over from death to life.

Have you crossed over to life?
